In a pandemic, no one should lose their health insurance if they suffer a job loss, and everyone should be able to drive to a hospital nearby. Yet rural hospitals are closing at a time when they are desperately needed. Affordable and accessible healthcare is critical for every resident in Missouri, but we are one of the 12 states that hasn’t expanded Medicaid. As a state representative, Deb has worked to expand access to healthcare—and she’ll continue that work in the senate.
Protect Women’s Reproductive Freedom
Our state has one of the worst records for maternal and infant mortality, and ensuring women’s access to reproductive health–including abortion–is critical. As a state representative, I have sponsored legislation requiring organizations that provide pregnancy-related services to provide medically accurate information on reproductive health options to receive state funding.
Strengthen Public Schools
Local schools are the backbone of Missouri, yet our state ranks 34th on state funding of education. Our schools have an F grade. We must invest in our students’ education, so they have every opportunity to succeed, especially as technology has raised the bar for all the jobs of the future. As state senator, Deb would increase funding for our public schools, including transportation funding.
A proud champion for the people of Missouri, Deb is now in her third term—and sixth year—as State Representative for House District 90.
To continue serving her community, she is running for State Senate in District 15, which includes several new municipalities within West County, South County, and unincorporated St. Louis County.
